April 2024

Well, it’s been ten years since that first news post. I’m not sure what to say about that. I guess I’m proud of myself for sticking with it. I’m proud of you for sticking with it, too. Thanks for being here. I hope you’re doing well.

Also, it’s now possible to automatically run commands when someone changes the channel topic.

As a bonus, I removed the command editor feature where it would automatically append the current line number as a URL fragment in your browser's address bar as you moved around, because it meant that simply clicking on a command to edit it added two "pages" in your browser history, and made using the back button annoying. You can still link directly to a particular line of a command by manually adding #L123 to the end of the URL.

👏 can 👏 you 👏 believe 👏 this 👏 shit 👏

  • There are actual, meaningful news updates now‽
  • Documentation about using Wheaties and writing commands has been added.
  • There's a quick search form at the top of every page.
  • If your search returns a single command, you'll be redirected straight to it.
  • When editing a command, its name is now included in the page title.
  • The command editor now resizes to fit the height of your browser.
  • After saving a command, your cursor will return to the same line.
  • Commands are now listed by most recently updated.
  • You can now search for commands by name and body separately. This should make it easier to find a command by name. (Previously, search would look in both the name and body, which often resulted in many irrelevant search results.)
  • The "About" panel when editing a command is now easier to read.

May 2014

Along with a new look, Wheaties’ web interface has received a security overhaul. As such, all accounts have been wiped, and you’ll need to recreate yours before you can view, create or edit commands. This is a temporary measure until an all-new Blolol.com is launched with the Wheaties web interface built in, at which point you will no longer need a separate account. It’s gonna be awesome.

In the meantime, I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for your patience!
